After Ryan travelled via train, through a storm and train track flooding, causing an hours delay, we met outside the front of Liverpool Street Station. Thankfully Georgia didn’t leave and waited patiently for Ryan in a nearby coffee shop, thank goodness, as little did we know yet, but we had just met the love of our lives.
As we walked towards Shoreditch High Street like two nervous teenagers, Ryan struggled to maintain eye contact with Georgia, If it wasn’t for Georgia’s amazing handbag containing a pack of Uno cards, it seemed that Ryan’s love potion was beyond help. Luckily calm was restored over several rounds of uno, coffee, and lots of laughter!
We headed into the Queens Head pub off Shoreditch High Street for lunch and continued deep conversations, with contagious smiles on our faces and perfect laughter. The man who was serving us asked “are you celebrating anything special” and Ryan enthusiastically responded “yes we are, it’s actually our first date!”.
We proceeded to order some tapas and a cheeky drink. The next hour over lunch flew by and it felt like we were the only two people in the pub. We shared a connection like no other. Home hour loomed, and as we went our separate ways we both looked back narrowly missing each other looking back, months later discovering that we had in fact both looked back at each other.
Similarly to our first date, our engagement started tumultuously with Georgia's car having broken down after a shift at work. Ryan planned to propose 2 days later, little to Georgia's knowledge.
With the car in the garage, Ryan tried to inconspicuously get Georgia to call the garage, and get the much-needed car finished in time for the engagement. Thankfully the garage was able to complete the car by 10 am the morning of, and off we went on our 'date'.
We drove to Hurtwood Forest, Georgia anxiously waiting in the car. After a few minutes a call came through to find Ryan in the forest. Georgia arrived at a beautiful installation Art nest. A viewpoint over the hills in front of us. Down on one knee and candles lit around us, Ryan proposed and of course, Georgia said yes!
Following the most perfect proposal, Ryan had booked a table at a beautiful pub, with the whole restaurant to ourselves, we celebrated and called our nearest and dearest to celebrate the news.
Which leads us to inviting you all to celebrate our marriage!
